For the Awa: Ngāti Raukawa te au ki te Tonga and Rangitāne

Representative collectives of Rangitāne and Ngāti Raukawa te au ki te tonga came together recently at Paranui Pā for kōrero about our Manawatū awa. Our people have enduring relationships with our awa and responsibilities to its future. The hui brought together hapū and iwi representatives, and technical specialists to share whakaaro, strengthen relationships and build a greater collective understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the Manawatū awa. For Te Tūmatakahuki, there is value in our collectives working directly with one another around the awa that connects us. We acknowledge our Rangitāne whanaunga for joining us in this historic moment at Paranui Pā. A moment grounded in our shared commitment to the Manawatū Awa and our mokopuna.
